What are you doing to ensure the accuracy of court records to make sure privacy is kept? One of my top priorities is ensuring that court records are kept accurately and that personal information is kept as privately as the law will allow. One way we have done that is through the adoption of Electronic Filing. Also, we redact all sensitive information so it doesn’t appear on our public website. |

How would you improve efficiency in the office? One of the most important ways we can become more efficient is by adopting new technology in our office. For example, my office is currently using Microsoft AI technology to create a chatbot that can help answer customers questions which will save us time in answering phone calls and emails that frequently come to us. |

How would you increase accessibility to the justice system for the youth? While I am not the Clerk of the Juvenile Court one of the most important ways I can help increase access to the justice system for youth is through education. I think an important role of the clerk of courts is helping to teach the next generation about our courts and how they work. I am always happy when I get an opportunity to go out and talk with students about our court system. |

What makes you the most fit for this position? My experience makes me the most fit candidate for this job. Prior to being appointed clerk in 2017 I spent over a decade at the Dayton Municipal Court as the Chief Deputy Clerk. During that time I became a certified court manager and was named Ohio’s top Court Administrator by my peers. We need someone who knows and understands court operations as our Clerk of Courts. The job is too important to not have an experienced leader running the office. |
