How to Vote

1. Register to vote
     a. To learn how to register online, by mail, or by person, visit here:  https://olvr.sos.state.oh.us/. You can also use this                     website to register online.
     b. To register you will need documents that include Ohio ID, date of birth, name, address, and the last 4 digits of your social                       security number.
     c. You must register no later than October 9th, 2018.
2. Find your polling location.
     a. Your polling location is based on your residential address. To find it you can go to                                                                                   https://www.sos.state.oh.us/elections/voters/toolkit/.
3. On voting day, you can vote from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm.
     a. You must bring proof of identification when you go to vote (Voting Information).
     b. Voting instructions will be posted at polling locations when you go to cast a ballot.
Write-in Candidates: A write-in candidate is a certified candidate who is running in the election, but the voter must write in their name on the ballot. Only votes for certified candidates' names can be written in and counted.

Voting Check List
  • Ensure that you fully registered to vote (check with the voter registration laws of your state) https://www.sos.state.oh.us/elections/voters/voter-eligibility-residency-reqs/#gref
  • Review the different ways of voting (voting by ballot, voting by mail, etc.)
  • Know the date and time when voting occurs (November 6: 6:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.) https://www.sos.state.oh.us/elections/voters/voting-schedule/2018-schedule/#gref
  • Know your designated polling location https://www.sos.state.oh.us/elections/voters/toolkit/polling-location/#map
  • Know what you need to bring to vote (appropriate identification) https://www.sos.state.oh.us/elections/voters/id-requirements/#gref
  • Review the different issues and candidates
Write-in Candidates:
